One of the greatest advantages of the Copernicus Sentinel data is the stable observation scenario, which creates consistent time series over the Alps for both SAR and optical data (Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, and Sentinel-3). To fully exploit this pool of data, the Sentinel Alpine Observatory (SAO), in collaboration with Informatica Alto Adige SPA, has developed some web tools for visualization and interactive analysis of Sentinel data time series.
You can use the tools selecting one operation available in the top-left of the Time Series Visualizer page. Please open the menu by clicking on the symbol ( ≡ ) in the upper left corner. In the “Sentinel Alpine Observation” pane, different boundary shape files (“Base Layers”) and Sentinel data sets (“Time Series”) can be selected. The “Basemap” section offers a choice of open source background maps. In the top pane, you can employ one of the two “Time series tools”, either the “calendar” or the “time bar” view, to play all the images available for each data set. The “Selection tool” is still under construction.
A data cube service will be soon available for efficient access to n-dimensional data sets with multiple bands and dense acquisition series using the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) services WCS (Web Coverage Service) and WCPS (Web Coverage Processing Service).
